It can sometimes feel really difficult to be heard in today’s world. It feels like no-one really cares about what we think, and we have no real way of expressing our thoughts. That’s why it’s so important to have that group of family and friends that really listen to you: who really hear you, and care about what you think. For me, I love being a part of our young adults group and our men’s group at church. Whether or not I feel it in the moment, I know deep down that there are people in each of those groups who care about me and really hear me.
Still, another thing I love to do when I want to share some thoughts and feelings I have is to make videos. Sometimes it’s something more serious, related to how I feel about the fact that the world seems to really be going down the toilet. But often, its just to give my opinion on seemingly unimportant things: like music or TV shows or video games. It’s just a good feeling to share what your thinking about something you’re interested in, and compare it to what other people think. I’ve loved rooting through all the YouTube videos right now passionately debating the quality of the most recent season of Game of Thrones, and the implications it has for the last season next year!
So, given this, I’ve decided to give regular YouTube uploads another go, starting up a brand new series called ‘I Just Played…’ Essentially, it’s just going to be me talking about things that I enjoy, starting with video games. There’s gonna be a couple of variations, like ‘I Just Watched…’ and ‘I Just Read…’ — I’m just gonna see how it goes! Going to hopefully upload a new video every Friday.
It might seem very insignificant, but I’ve already had a bunch of fun recording the first couple of episodes, and it felt really good just to talk about some dumb, fun stuff! At least now, if anyone want to find out my real thoughts on Dragon Age: Inquisition, they can — I’ll be heard!
First episode up TOMORROW!
